Community Involvement

You are here: Home / Suburban Water Systems / Community Involvement

Suburban Water Systems is dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve through a variety of sponsorships and signature programs.

Operation Gobble

Suburban partners with local nonprofit organizations and elected officials to distribute turkeys and “fixings” to families during Thanksgiving. Each year Suburban delivers over 1,000 turkeys to non-profit organizations who assist families in our service area.

WISH (LIRA) Program

Suburban is pleased to offer the Water Invoice and Statement Help Program (WISH)– a low-income rate assistance program for qualifying residential customers. WISH provides a bill reducing credit of $7.11 on qualifying customers’ water bills each month.

Volunteerism

Suburban Water is proud of our Employee Volunteer Program. Employees are now allowed to use 8 hours of paid time to volunteer Monday-Friday for causes within our service area. This is a great way for us to support our communities we serve.

Shepherd’s Pantry Donation Drive

Suburban employees team up with Shepherd’s Pantry, located in Glendora, to provide food to families in need in the communities we serve. Shepherds Pantry provides emergency food, clothing, resource assistance and educational programs to families in need.

Community Events

Suburban is proud to participate and sponsor many community and school events in our service area. When applicable, Suburban sets up informational booths where employees take the time to answer questions and communicate updates to customers and local elected officials.

Breast Cancer Fundraiser

Patient Donation: Every year Suburban fund raises in September and October for a breast cancer patient at City of Hope. City of Hope designates the deserving patient who uses the donation to pay for basic necessities while undergoing treatment.

Supplier Diversity

Suburban is committed to developing mutually beneficial business relationships with Woman, Minority and Disabled Veteran, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Business Enterprises that have the capability to meet or exceed our requirements for products and services. Identifying these businesses, providing those opportunities to do business with us, and helping them succeed are essential elements in our own success and are directly in line with our mission and core values.

Theater Program

National Theatre for Children help educators inspire and prepare the next generation of scientists, artists, thinkers, pioneers and world citizens by providing free curriculum and performances to schools all over the country. Each year 20-25 schools in our service areas to educate children on the importance of conserving water.

Free Landscape Classes

Suburban has been hosting classes since 2010. The instructor covers a lot of good information about keeping your landscape/yard in good shape while also conserving water. We offer 4-5 classes per year in the communities we serve.
