In 2005, SouthWest Water Company acquired several systems in Tyler County from TECON Water Holdings. SouthWest Water has worked since then to make improvements to bring the systems up to state standards and to improve water quality and quantity.
In Ivanhoe, for example, there were assets that were structurally failing and in need of major rehab or replacement. We invested significant capital to make improvements. We also completed significant well work, spending close to $80,000 and four years to improve or replace well pumps, generators, pump stations and electrical equipment in Ivanhoe.
Finally, in 2010, SouthWest Water completely replaced a ground storage tank that provides clean drinking water to the community. In Ivanhoe, SouthWest Water Company has invested close to $400,000.
