On May 10, 2023, Texas Water Utilities and Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas surprised a local teen with an in-home recording studio on her 18th birthday.
Aly’s parents built her a studio space in their backyard and Texas Water Utilities completed it with recording equipment. Our volunteers helped assemble her studio furniture and presented her with a wish basket including home decor, desk supplies and posters of her favorite bands, including My Chemical Romance.
When asked about her wish, Aly shared that she wanted a place of her own to record music during her time in college. She plans on attending Texas State University in the fall, while living at home and majoring in forensic anthropology and psychology.
Aly has a metabolic disorder and has gone through a pancreatomy, or the removal of her pancreas. Aly told our Central Texas staff how thankful she was for her studio and expressed gratitude for making her wish come true.
