On July 12, 2023, Texas Water Utilities and Make-A-Wish North Texas granted the wish of 9-year-old Caliyah, who has a rare blood disorder and wanted to swim with dolphins in St. Thomas with her family. The themed celebration included cupcakes, custom pink balloons spelling her name and snow cones donated by Kona Ice North Grand Prairie.
Terry Benton, vice president of operations at Texas Water Utilities, presented Caliyah with a basket of her favorite things including sour gummy worms, JoJo Siwa bows and a personalized beach towel for her trip. Benton shared that he’s humbled to work for an organization that partners with Make-A-Wish to make a lasting impact on kids’ lives.
