On April 25, 2024, Texas Water Utilities and Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas celebrated ten-year-old Cooper with a Disney-themed welcome back party.
A Leander local battling cystic fibrosis, Cooper has to do breathing treatments multiple times a day. However, when Cooper and his parents were at the “Give Kids The World Village” in Central Florida, they were able to take his mind off of the everyday challenges he faces with his diagnosis, enjoying ice cream for breakfast and chasing down the fresh cookie cart.
When asked about his wish, Cooper shared that it was magic. In addition to celebrating his birthday during his trip, he saw other kids who have cystic fibrosis for the first time, and he didn’t feel so alone.
Cooper can play Zelda music by ear and wants to be a coder when he grows up. Tim Williford, vice president of operations at Texas Water Utilities, presented Cooper with some of his favorite things including a Golden Snitch fidget spinner, a Zelda sticker book, and all things rainbow, including Amy’s Ice Cream topped with rainbow sprinkles.
Texas Water Utilities is proud to partner with Make-A-Wish to provide life-changing experiences for children across the state with critical illnesses.
