Charmaine Jackson
Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Communications, and Community Affairs

Charmaine Jackson is the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Communications, and Community Affairs for SouthWest Water Company. She brings 20 years of experience driving performance improvement in equity and inclusion. Charmaine plays an integral role with the CEO, executive leadership and employees at all levels to develop and implement innovative strategies and processes to advance organizational change, foster a positive and inclusive work environment, and ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion considerations are incorporated in how SouthWest Water works with our service communities.

Charmaine is a seminal thought leader who is committed to bringing a vision to build a culture where differences are valued and recognized as a significant, positive influence on our nation’s future workforce. Throughout her career, Charmaine has sought to question, reimagine, and redesign systems and practices to ensure inclusion and equitable access.

Charmaine cultivated her expertise by holding key positions. She was the Senior Director, Diversity Initiatives at InGenesis, the Manager of Corporate Community Outreach, and Inclusive Business Initiatives at San Jose Water Company, and the Senior Diversity Manager at Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). In these roles she lead stakeholder training and internal and external communications for the initiative.

Her commitment to excellence garnered her the Outstanding Service Award by the California Water Association. She has received recognition from the Northern California Supplier Development Council and by Diversity Professional Magazine.

Charmaine is a graduate of San Jose State University and holds DEI certification from Cornell University.
