When SWWC acquired Kiawah Island Utility, we gained more than just a desirable presence in a new state. SWWC gained considerable expertise, knowledge, and experience with the KIU operations team that transitioned with the utility. In fact, General Manager Becky Dennis was just recognized with the South Carolina Water Environment Federation chapter’s WT Linton Award. The WT Linton Award is listed as the highest and most prestigious award presented by the Water Environment Association of South Carolina and is given on a very selective basis.
The award reads as follows:
For recognition of outstanding service, leadership and devotion to the State of South Carolina in preserving and protecting its valuable water resources. Presented by the Water Environment Association of South Carolina.
Also, at the same conference, KIU was recognized with an operational excellence award presented by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. This award was is given in recognition of facility personnel who are striving for excellence in the protection of the environment and are meeting or exceeding compliance expectations.
Congratulations and GREAT JOB to our new team in South Carolina!!
