Occasionally, we need to adjust rates to recover increased operational costs including labor and supplies, as well as water and wastewater system improvements. These strategic investments reinforce the long-term sustainability of your water and wastewater systems and help to ensure continued service with minimal disruptions.
Rates for Texas Water Utilities customers were last reviewed in 2020. Over the last four years, Texas Water Utilities invested over $110 million on water and wastewater infrastructure across the state, while also striving to manage costs against aggressive inflation.
How much will my rates change?
Texas Water Utilities is proposing a single, sustainable water rate and wastewater rate for all customers across the state. A sustainable rate reflects the true costs of delivering service including infrastructure investments and enhances the long-term viability of all water and wastewater systems.
Before any rate changes can become effective, Texas Water Utilities’ proposal will be reviewed by the Public Utility Commission to ensure the underlying costs are prudent and reasonable. For more information on proposed rate changes in your area, please refer to the PUCT Docket No. 56665.
