KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – – SouthWest Water Company has announced that it has completed the purchase of KIU Holdings, L.L.C. from , Kiawah Partners, a company that is the prime developer of Kiawah Island.
Kiawah Island Utility, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of KIU Holdings, is a Public Service Commission of South Carolina regulated water utility that provides water and wastewater services to Kiawah Island.
SouthWest Water Company is a privately-owned American water company with resources that utilize local management and decision-making to own, operate and manage regulated water and wastewater utility systems serving over 500,000 residents in Alabama, California, Oklahoma, Texas and South Carolina.
SouthWest Water Company serves communities nationwide through water and wastewater utility ownership in service to the stewardship of the world’s most valuable resource. Their focus is on the entire water cycle, from its point of origin through sourcing, transporting, treating, distributing, collection and recycling, and operating efficient and environmentally responsible water and wastewater systems.

The purchase price was not disclosed, but Quinn emphasized that SouthWest Water Company will complete the build out of the new pipeline project currently under contract to provide a redundant water supply line to the Island for enhanced safety and reliability.
