Vice President of IT, Jeff Farney, was selected as a panelist and joined by other industry experts including the Deputy Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – Water Security Division. Topics of discussion included best practices when dealing with, cybersecurity threats, challenges with securing industrial control systems, and how industry and government are working together in this space.
“I was honored to be part of this symposium and share what we are seeing in the private sector,” Farney said. “It was extremely beneficial to engage and learn how other water organizations are working to protect themselves in what the government refers to as part of our nation’s critical infrastructure.”
The event was held in Washington, DC in May and brought together industry leaders, state and federal regulators, and recognized experts from NAWC member companies to discuss emerging threats and best practices to address today’s complex Cyber Security Landscape.

NAWC CEO, Robert Powelson, described the mission of the symposium as a way to provide companies with a framework for addressing security vulnerabilities and an understanding of how industry and governments can work together.
