The annual Operator Awards celebrated and acknowledged South Carolina Water Utilities operators. Several who help run South Carolina Water Utilities and Blue Granite Water Company plants were commended for their outstanding service and recognized for their “high standards of excellence in the Hurricane Helene Effort.”
The Best Plant Award was given to Glenn Village, in West Columbia, South Carolina. The Operator of the Year Award was given to Adam Robinson, who operates this wastewater plant.
Notably, Taj Ghosheh, a mechanical maintenance manager, was recognized. Ghosheh’s expertise with electricity and pumps helped him get systems back online. Many of his colleagues believe his efforts were critical in helping our customers during the aftermath of the hurricane when our plants were without power.
Additionally, Keith Parnell, an area manager, was honored for 46 years in the water industry as he prepares for retirement.
South Carolina Water Utilities President Craig Sorensen said, “We do hard things, and we do them together and we do them well.”
