On May 16, 2022, Texas Water Utilities and Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast & Louisiana surprised a 17-year-old leukemia survivor from Conroe with a deep-sea fishing trip. Texas Water Utilities sponsored the trip for William and his parents to go deep-sea fishing in Florida on May 19. Melissa Rich, director of operations, Southeast Region, presented the recent high school grad with a basket of fishing gear, as well as a giant yard sign installed by Card My Yard.
As a fishing enthusiast, William created a “fishing bucket list” and was able to complete his list by catching both grouper and snapper on his trip. William had an amazing time in Key West and plans to attend Auburn University this fall.
